Per-Batch Diesel Test Certificates for Fuel Distributors, Transporters, and Industrial Buyers

List of contents:
Diesel test certificate is a test report from an accredited laboratory that proves the quality of one batch or one delivery of diesel. Industrial fuel distributors, agents, and transporters use it to reassure customers, while industrial buyers use it to make sure the diesel they pay for meets specification.
This page explains what a diesel test certificate contains, the parameters usually listed, how to sample per batch, and how certificates from an independent laboratory help resolve quality disputes.
Why a Diesel Test Certificate from an Independent Lab Matters
Industrial, mining, and project customers increasingly ask for proof of quality for every delivery, especially since B40 biodiesel blends made water and sediment problems more frequent. A certificate issued by an independent KAN-accredited laboratory is more readily accepted by customers than a seller's own quality statement. For distributors, the certificate also protects against blame when the problem actually comes from the customer's tank.
| Party | Benefit of a diesel test certificate |
|---|---|
| Fuel distributors and agents | Proof of quality to win and keep industrial customers |
| Transporters | Proof of quality at loading, protecting against claims of mixing en route |
| Industrial buyers | Basis for accepting or rejecting deliveries and filing claims |
| Mining and projects | Quality control of large diesel volumes from many suppliers |
Parameters in a Diesel Test Certificate

| Parameter | Method |
|---|---|
| Density at 15 °C | ASTM D4052 / D1298 |
| Kinematic viscosity at 40 °C | ASTM D445 |
| Moisture content | ASTM D6304 |
| Water and sediment | ASTM D2709 |
| Sulfur | ASTM D4294 / D5453 |
| Cetane number / index | ASTM D613 / D4737 |
| Flash point | ASTM D93 |
| Distillation | ASTM D86 |
| FAME content | EN 14078 / ASTM D7371 |
| Copper strip corrosion | ASTM D130 |
Parameters can be adjusted to the specification requested by the customer or contract. Each parameter is explained in the guide diesel fuel lab testing and the full list in fuel analysis.
Per-Batch Certificates: The Workflow
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1. Sampling | Sample from the storage tank or truck compartment after filling, plus a sealed backup bottle |
| 2. Identification | Label with the batch number, tank or vehicle number, date, and recipient name |
| 3. Shipping | Send to the laboratory with a sample kit, or schedule a technician for routine volumes |
| 4. Testing | Parameters tested by the agreed ASTM or EN methods |
| 5. Certificate | An accredited report with results, methods, specification limits, and conforming or non-conforming status |
For distributors with routine deliveries, a periodic programme with a fixed schedule allows certificates to be issued consistently for every batch.
Resolving Quality Disputes
Diesel quality disputes usually arise because there is no agreed reference sample. Good practice: at handover, take samples together, seal several bottles, have both parties sign, each keep one bottle, and send one bottle to an independent laboratory. Results from an accredited laboratory become a basis for settlement acceptable to both sides.
Service Areas
We accept samples from all of Indonesia, including East Java, Central Java, Bali, Lombok and NTB, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. Samples are sent with our kit, or taken by technicians for programmes with many points.
Frequently Asked Questions about Diesel Test Certificates
What does a diesel test certificate contain?
A diesel test certificate contains the sample identity, the result of each parameter with units, the test method, comparison specification limits, conforming or non-conforming status, and the identity of the accredited laboratory.
Which parameters do industrial customers usually request?
Usually density, viscosity, water content, water and sediment, sulphur, cetane, flash point, distillation, and FAME content for biodiesel blends. The exact parameters follow the customer's specification or contract.
Can a certificate be issued for every delivery batch?
Yes. For routine deliveries we set up a periodic programme with a fixed schedule so every batch receives a certificate from a KAN-accredited laboratory.
What if the buyer and seller disagree on diesel quality?
Use a joint sample sealed at handover and send it to an independent accredited laboratory. The result becomes a neutral basis for settlement for both parties.
